I have a friend in London named Gabrielle. One night I dreamt that she made these beautiful pieces of sculpture out of a kind of fruit roll-ups, or gummy bear-material. She made;

• An Olympic bob-sled
• A dog’s head (a Beagle)
• An antique arm chair
• A Chanel jacket – like Jackie O wore
• A zebra

They were all bright red and coated with sparkling sugar, like those old-fashioned gummy-candies. Each one was smaller than a toaster. They were very delicate – in little wooden boxes with tan packing paper. She had sent them to me so that I could bring them to a gallery with which she had been corresponding. As soon as I opened the packages, I knew she’d get the show and be on the cover of Artforum soon after.

I told her about this dream and said that she should actually make these things. But she said the idea was mine and I should do it myself, so I might. Don’t steal my idea.
